my mum taught me not to be so negative all the time. but today I just need to let off some steam, especially as it’s about my negatives. I’ve been a proud customer of #silbersalz35 for five years. in total, I’ve had 64 rolls of film developed there, and I bought most of them from them as well. they have a great scanner and use the ECN-2 process for development, which delivers fantastic results and is very impressive.

but this year, the service has deteriorated significantly, and I won’t be ordering anything from them for the time being. what’s happened? well, I don’t know. the films I sent in are just sitting there, and there’s no communication whatsoever. only after multiple enquiries to customer support do I receive standard replies. it used to take about a week for the scans to be ready; at the moment it takes over a month, and there are no updates. on Instagram, negative comments are piling up under the official account’s rare posts – with no response.

at the moment, I’m waiting for the negatives from my last batch, and there’s no news on that either. and to be honest, there are several labs in berlin that can develop ECN-2 and aren’t any more expensive. it makes me sad, but sometimes you just have to part ways.
